It features all crucial articulations, a gorgeous & inspiring UI, and a full microtuning engine for authentic playing.  The history of the oud extends back to antiquity, having been referenced in writings over 1,000 years old. It is a fretless, stringed instrument that has been used in both Middle Eastern and European music for many centuries, and is now played all over the world. The instrument we sampled is a custom-made, double soundboard Turkish oud by Faruk Türünz. The instrument was performed by Stelios Varveris and recorded with pristine Neumann & AKG mics through an SSL console in a treated studio room. Our goal in creating this library was to produce an incredibly intuitive instrument that simply sounds great out of the box. The powerful script engine seamlessly voices notes and chords – no complex keyswitches required. Advanced users can delve into the gorgeous, inspiring user interface for custom mix controls like microphone blend, EQ, compression, and reverb, and microtuning presets can be used to achieve incredibly authentic performances. ‘Anatolian Mey’ contains professionally played and recorded melodies ready to take your musical experience to the next level! The Mey is a Turkish folk instrument of the wind type with a kaval type body which consists of three parts: the main body, the reed and the grip. The clips mounted to the end of the reed and can be pushed up and down on the reed and thus enabling tuning by providing one note variation in the sound. It has a total of eight melody keys with seven on top and one underneath. Alaturka is a music term used during the past century to define Turkish Classical Music. When first coined in Europe, the word ‘Alla Turca’ referred to the Turkish influence on western music. Then the word entered into Ottoman Turkey, together with Western musicians, invited by the Sultan himself, to reform the musical world of the capital in Western lines. This style provided a bridge between the past and present, and a cultural bridge between the ‘east’ and the ‘west’. ‘Turkish Divan Saz’ a collection of traditional divan saz melodies that have been professionally played, recorded and packed to ensure that you will never miss any little detail in your project. The ‘Divan Saz’ is the largest of the baglama family. It is also called the Meydan saz and the name is believed to be related to the fact that in meetings of Asiks, they would challenge each other. It has a metre-long neck and eight strings and is most commonly played in Anatolia. They are used both for Folk music and for modern popular music. Turkish Baglama WAV

‘Turkish Baglama’ by Earthone presents a collection of traditional Baglama melodies that have been professionally played by exceptional musicians to reflect its unique and characteristic sounds. ‘Baglama’ is the most commonly used string Folk instrument in Turkey. It takes different names according to the regions and according to its size. It has three main parts called Tekne, Gogus, and Sap. Tekne part is generally made from mulberry trees as well as from woods of juniper, beech, spruce, or walnut. The gogus part is made from spruce and the sap section from homespun or juniper. There are pieces called burgu (screw) at the end of the sap which is opposite to tekne part to which the strings are tied. These screws are used for tuning. There are pitches on the sap tied with fish line. This instrument is played with a Mizrap or Tezene made from cherry wood bark or plastic and fingers are used in some regions. The latter technique is called Selpe. If a single instrument were to represent Turkish folk music it would have to be the baglama cause it is used to express both joyful and sad emotions by the Turkish folk throughout history.
