At the time of this publication, there does not exist another instrument that can let you play FOUR string sections (violins, violas, cellos and basses) at the SAME TIME. But wit Kinetic, you get the entire string section in one instrument. That means you get a separate timeline for each section. Each timeline contains 64 note or rest events and can be divided into up to 4 “regions”. And you can have each timeline play a different pattern whether you hold down a single note or chord! The Ambient Cinematic String Theory Collection. This is truly one of those instances where something is better than the sum of its individual parts. We’ve been recording and releasing electric and acoustic guitar libraries for Kontakt for over 6 years. For the first time we have taken all of our guitar libraries and wrapped them together inside a beautiful and powerful effects engine housed inside of Kontakt. In addition to clean and dry sounds, we’ve packed in a host of sound design patches for you to use. From deep, wobbly basses to heavenly, airy pads – there’s something here for everyone. Our particular favourites are the multis, where we are brought together various pads and leads to create a complete soundscape under your fingertips. We’re quite proud of two mod-wheel multis we’ve developed. One allows you to transition from an electric guitar being plucked to being muted by just moving the mod-wheel. The other allows you to use the mod-wheel to move from an acoustic guitar being plucked to the octave harmonics being plucked. Great stuff!

Unique timewarped Optigan / String Synth hybrid!

Possibly our gnarliest, grungiest instrument yet, Platter is a kind of bastardised string synth hybrid, taking as its starting point a variety of synth waveforms but reimagining them as built into a vinyl-based replay machine. If a Solina and an Optigan were abandoned in an attic for fifty years and had babies, this is what they might sound like… The core premise is quite a simple one: we took a variety of synth waveforms, but with a hefty bias towards the string-synth end of the spectrum, and had them pressed to custom dubplates by our local vinyl workshop. We deliberately didn’t go down the standard route of saw, sine, square for this one; instead, there are a couple of “synth staples” but also a batch of more orchestrally-themed sounds taken from old string synths and other more complex instruments. So instead of choosing “Pulse” or “Saw”, you’ve got things like “Symphonic”, “Baroque”, “Choral” and “Elegiac”. Not sure what that’s going to sound like? Try it and see
