‘The Future Sound of Techno’ has been over 2 years in the making, and takes us on a journey through Techno music, from it’s early house music roots in Detroit, to the darker underground clubs of Berlin right to the minimal and progressive styles that have spread across the world today. Inspired by the likes of Richie Hawtin, Dave Clarke, Trentmoller, Dubfire and Jeff Mills, this sample pack takes a creative twist on the techno of yesteryear, a little helping of current styles and a dose of inspiration from new sounds entering the scene to create a new variation on what we call Techno. All the sounds have been captured from a variety of analogue synths and drum machines, and painstaking care has been taken to ensure every single loop, sample and sampler instrument has been refined to perfection.
Many musicians call the Roland TR-808 drumcomputer affectionately the bass queen and this pseudonym is without any doubt a warrantable expression. After its release in 1980 it first became a slow seller and people preferred the more natural and powerful sounding Linn-L1 instead of the rather artificial chinking Roland machine. After a couple of years however plenty of producers all over sudden started to use grooves of the proud queen in their songs. Afrika Bambata’s “Planet rock”, A Guy Called Gerald’s “Voodoo ray” or Adonis’ “No way back” with their remarkable rhythm patterns have in the meanwhile written music history. Not to forget Whitney Houston’s “I wanna dance with somebody” with its purely artifificial sounding cowbell we cannot forget. But the eight-o-eight was also able to replay ballads like LL Cool J’s legendary “I need love” with its kick drum full of warm decay so that it just makes boooooom…
