This course introduces students to coding principles while moving towards a finished application. The course will make use of the lua programming language and the Love 2D framework. Lua is a fantastic language to learn as your first coding language; it is easily digested and allows you to get a taste of the core principles of programming. At the end of the course students will take away their completed practice tool and will be encouraged to customize and personalize their app further. The app that we will create is a simple application for the purpose of music instrument practice. The app (when completed and fully functional) will choose a random tempo (for example 120 beats per minute) and a random exercise (e.g. A Major). Upon completion of that metronome cycle, a different combination will be chosen at random.

Relaxing Piano Practice

In this class we do this by taking out things that often cause people stress and simplifying the things that we need to do to play well. We look into what things often cause people stress and what things create relaxation and apply them to your practice. This class isn’t just about the knowledge you learn from practicing piano but experiencing music. This class doesn’t require any previous knowledge of music or Sheet Music. We have a specific section for those who are brand new to this, but if you are a seasoned piano player you can totally skip that section. We learn how to play a single scale, the chords in that scale, inversions, four chord patterns, and how to play some simple melodies over those.

This release features live recorded sax in various keys. There are 53 licks and solos recorded either on a Yamaha YTS-23 alto sax or a Yanagisawa 990u tenor sax. These samples can fit over many styles and chord progressions ranging from a twelve bar blues to a typical pop progression. Check out the demo track which is a jazz progression.
