Mbira for Noiiz Player

Mbira is a unique collection of thumb pianos made up of 5 presets all ready to drop into the Noiiz Player. An instrument of African origin, the Mbira consists of a wooden board with attached metal tines. Played with thumbs, this provides a bright and pure metallic tone. Recorded in pristine detail at Nave Studios and utilising Andy Wilsons large collection of Mbiras, we recorded combinations of these wonderful instruments in different tunings to capture as many notes as possible. All Mbiras were carefully recorded with matched, stereo pairs of Neumann KM183’s and U87’s to ensure we were faithful to the original sound.

The Sonoris DDP Player is a standalone cross-platform application that imports DDP 2.00 images and Cue Sheet (cue) files for playback or creating RedBook compatible audio CD’s.
The DDP Player can import (loadback) a DDP 2.00 fileset made by any software, like Bias Peak Studio (XT), Sonic Studio HD, SADiE, Sequoia or Pyramix. You can playback tracks, audition gaps, see all PQ codes, ISRC, MCN and CD-Text data. Another feature is the Check Project function that tests the imported project against a set of RedBook specification rules.

A faithful reincarnation of a Lyon & Healy grand concert harp with rich, resonant tones created by the steel, gut and nylon strings and the Sitka Spruce soundboard. Create delicate melodies, hypnotic sequences and ethereal soundscapes with this wonderfully versatile instrument. Played by Isabell Harries and recorded by the Noiiz team at The Pool studios in London with a matched pair of Neuman U87’s and API pre-amps, the instrument features ultra-realistic velocity and round robin layers and comes ready to drop right into the Noiiz Player. The harp is well known for its use in traditional folk and dreamy cinematic music, but it’s surprisingly versatile and can range from intricate delicate high frequency tones to powerful, almost bell like bass sounds.

Harmonium for Noiiz Player

Harmonium is a collection of genuine Debain Harmonium presets made up of various brooding ‘stop’ arrangements, including Sourdin, Bourdon, Clarion, Bassoon, Flute, Clarrinette, Fifre, Hautbois, Celesta and last but not least, Grand Jeu. This Harmonium was built in Paris, 1872 and delivers guts and character as air is bellowed by foot into the brass reeds. There are seven presets available which were sampled by the Noiiz team at Livingston Studios and performed by organist and conductor Alexander Binns of St Edmundsbury Cathedral. Each of the Harmonium presets vary in timbre and tone, from light and shrill to dramatic, bass-heavy resonance. Create rising cinematic pads, sharp melodic lines that cut through any mix or play rhythmic folky sequences combined with other instruments. Change the sound entirely using the Noiiz Player’s envelope controls, Space and Delay FX.

Mellotron for Noiiz Player

Mellotron is a genuine collection of all 22 original Mellotron M4000 presets, sampled directly from tape and ready to drop into the Noiiz Player. Used by artists like The Beatles and Genesis, the instrument has evolved from a collection of traditional orchestral instrument samples into a unique, creative and expressive instrument. Spattered with unique inconsistencies, wobbles, pops and cross-talk, the instrument is oozing history, stories of sessions gone by and true vintage character. Now housed within the Noiiz Player, it begins a new journey, ready to be twisted and turned into something new by you. The instrument is fascinating in its construction. When each key is pressed, a length of magnetic tape is pressed against a capstan, drawing it across the playhead. The recording on the tape is played back until the key is released, when the tape is retracted by a spring back to its initial position.

Tubular Bells is a complete, full range set of Musser made Tubular Bells, sampled extensively and ready to drop into the Noiiz Player. These solid steel tubes add a colour unlike any other percussion instrument, with a decay tail that could almost linger for eternity and a juxtapositional tone that can range from celestial and angelic to haunting and demonic The instrument also includes a set of bass chimes, offering an extended range and some really interesting additional tones. Recorded by the Noiiz Content Team at Skinny Farm Studios with a pair a Neumann U87’s, the detail of the instrument is instantly apparent. The chimes are struck on the top edge with a plastic-headed hammer tipped with felt, which gives a great attack on those louder notes, adding real impact.
