It seems that in the downtime between service as a musical instrument, this particular organ also served as a home to countless little critters who left their mark all over the interior. There it sat in our old Sand Creek studio until we got it working just long enough to unlock some of its musical mysteries. In order to capture all of the character of this vintage treasure, we recorded two microphone positions: up close and room. Sandy Creek Organ includes six different sustain types (two of which feature a rotating Leslie speaker), each with round robin and releases, as well as a variety of sound effects. As always we have included a selection of carefully crafted ambiences and creative FX presets to help jumpstart your creative juices. The actual Thomas Monticello we recorded may have reached its last stop, but it will live on forever as our Sandy Creek Organ.

In addition to deep-sampling 52 keys with 5 velocity layers in close stereo, we captured a number of other SFX like lid open/closes, key & pedal noise, and wooden creaks.

Ephemere is a percussion synthesizer that includes twelve sound generation engines assigned to each note of an octave. The sounds are generated using FM synthesis and can be further sculpted using a multi mode filter and two simple yet flexible envelope generators. Ephemere makes it easy to add variety to your rhythmic patterns by attaching a randomization setting to most of the synthesis parameters as well as a trigger probability per sound. Palindrome is a granular sampler geared toward experimental sound design. The basic concept behind Palindrome is to fuse four granular samplers with a coordinate plotting grid and complex modulation sources in order to facilitate the creation of morphing sound effects and unusual instrument patches. The plugin’s main grid section facilitates the creation of custom paths that determine the trajectory of a playhead over time. This playhead travels across a user-definable path that corresponds with the outputs of the samplers which are smoothly morphed using a bilinear interpolation algorithm. Palindrome also features 8 user-definable multi-breakpoint modulation envelopes to facilitate the creation of intricate modulation shapes. With its 4 granular samplers, morph-plotting system, 8 multi-breakpoint modulation envelopes, dual effects processors per sampler, shape presets, 4-note polyphony, deep randomization system, global reverb, 1.5GB sample library and numerous factory presets, Palindrome brings sound designers a powerful new sound sculpting tool.

It was recorded right up against the strings in a small, slightly reflective hall, giving it all the presence of a dry studio recording with just a hint of live ambiance.
