The classic Oberheim OB-Xa synthesizer from the ’80s. Learn all of the OB-Xa V’s features and functions as well as how to make sounds with this legendary synth’s virtual recreation. These videos are designed for new OB-Xa V users. Tyler starts with a video on the broad aspects and nature of the OB-Xa V, as well as a bit of history on the original before digging further into this recreation of a storied polyphonic synthesizer. You’ll then get a detailed overview of the user interface and basic controls so you have a good understanding of its layout and sound design workflow. Next, Tyler goes deep into the main panel area which contains its Oscillators, Filter, and Envelopes sections. This area is modeled faithfully on the original instrument’s, and functions very similarly. Moving on you’ll then learn all about the OB-Xa V’s advanced modulation capabilities which allow it to make sounds that can be as expressive and dynamic as you’d like.
