Join production wiz Eli Krantzberg for a comprehensive look at NoiseAsh’s Need preamp and EQ collection, which is based on some of the most sought-after Neve designs in history. Eli covers the 31102 console EQ, the 533 EQ, the 73 console EQ, the 84 console EQ, the 81 console EQ, and the preamps (73, 81, 84, and 31102), explaining each parameter and demonstrating each one’s sound in various musical contexts so you can hear them in action. These NoiseAsh videos are designed for new users of the Need collection. After welcoming you to the course, Eli starts off with the 31102 console pre-EQ, breaking down the various controls and parameters and letting you hear it on several different tracks in a small mix. The 533 EQ follows, and you’ll learn how to manipulate all five fully parametric bands, the mid/side processing, the even/odd harmonic control, and more while Eli demonstrates it back-to-back with the 31102 so you can hear the difference. Next, check out the 73 console EQ and hear why this is one of the most famous preamps of all time, along with a few enhancements that make it even more versatile than the original hardware. The 84 follows, which includes, compared to the 73, an enhanced filter, Hi Q options for the mid bands, and selectable frequencies for the high shelf.
