Custom designed and hand-made, the sidecar console is based on eight legendary vintage Class AB mic-preamps and equalizers which come from the 70’s era “with a lot of character”. This great sounding spring reverb is unique among Nebula reverbs, because it includes a control which acts like a ’tilt’ EQ, tilting from ‘bassy’, through flat, to ‘trebly’. It sounds massive on the bassy side. I also provide a fade control which allows you to shorten the length of the reverb while keeping a nice smooth fade-out. These controls are both firsts in the Nebula world, and they allow you to fine-tune the sound so the reverb fits more perfectly in your mixes. I made ‘lite’ versions for use during mixing, that you can use to audition the sound and find the best combinations of settings on the controls that work well in your mix. These versions load fast and use little resources, so you should even be able to use multiple instances. The full versions sound better though, so you should switch to them for rendering, which is quick and easy to do using the buttons on the included custom skin! There’s also a version of the reverb without the fade control, and another without the EQ and fade controls. Those use even less CPU, and all are accessible from the buttons on the skin.

Chandly Ltd Germanium is a class A compressor with transformers, the compression circuit uses FET gain reduction element. The compression curve, the knee, can be selected by various diode combination and the tone can be selected from flat, smooth and driven. Chandly Ltd Germanium manages to sound with character without being weak and harsh. There is little apparent colouration, just a maturity of tone.

Tube Magnetic Saturator is a homemade hardware piece that I built some years ago. DTE is the first library come from that unit. The last evolution includes a discrete input stage, a vintage magnetic-tape head circuit followed by a modern class A tube preamp with 6 valves working at high voltage: 300V. The magnetic-head is digitally controlled to emulate, in analog domain, different speeds and tape printing, while a discrete solid state preamp drives the signal to saturate it.

‘Based on’ a compressor (sought after original release version ‘A’ with the metal knobs!) that has famously found a lot of use as a bus comp, since its introduction in the early 80s. It’s known for its characteristic smooth sound and ability to ‘glue’ the elements of a mix or bus together. It has gained many die-hard fans who use it every time they mix, and it has been used on many classic recordings. It can also be used in many situations besides bus compression alone. Some like to use it to beef up electric/acoustic guitars, pianos, vocals and other sources, and it even gets used while tracking by some. It has been called a desert island piece. You don’t need many dBs of compression to get a benefit out of it, with common use involving just a bit of gain reduction for enhancement. Some even use it without compression just for its (subtle) tone. On the other hand, it still sounds great when you push it for lots of gain reduction.
