      Microphone Techniques: Essentials

      Team BiFiSO | 04 Jun 2019 | 696.6MB

Everyone who works with recorded audio and music needs to know how to work a mic. You should also be able to identify the right mic for each recording scenario, whether you’re given an existing toolkit of mics, preamps, and stands or bringing your own gear along, and place and adjust mics for optimum sound. This course is the place to hone your skills. Instructor Bill Gibson is a professor at Berklee College of Music, and has been recording, producing, performing and writing music for more than 35 years. In this course, he covers the most common mic types, applications, and patterns—so that you can make the right choice for your specific recording situation.

Decode Double-MS Microphone Setups in Post Production

This plugin is calibrated for the Double M/S Microphone, but it will also work with any other Double M/S Mic Setup. It will provide optimal results only on tracks that have been recorded with a 3-microphone (Double M/S) setup. The “Double MS Tool” plugin decodes the three signals of the Double MS system. It creates a 5.0 Surround signal on the basis of three microphone signals. The plugin enables customized, intuitive decoding on a realtime WYSIWYG basis. With the plugin the spatial and timbral fidelity of the resulting 5.0 Surround signal can be optimally achieved.

          Microphone Preamps Explained TUTORiAL

          SYNTHiC4TE | August 27 2017 | 676 MB

New to recording with Microphone Preamps? Not sure of the differences between a $100 preamp and a $1000 preamp? Well pull up a seat and hang out with Scottie Dugan and Brian Zieske, as they show you everything you need to know to get started with using microphone preamps! This series is designed for those who never used a microphone preamp before, and want to know about all the common features and controls found on mic pres, as well as how to set them up. It also touches on how the components and circuit design varies between units, and gives some sonic examples between an inexpensive “all-in-one” mic pre / audio interface and more expensive stand alone mic pres. It’s not a mic-pre “shoot out” however, and we chose the MOTU because there are so many out in the field, and the others because they are studio staples.

Brings the room out of recordings with a gorgeous lift in the 10 k region. Found a decades old copy that really shows the essence of the mic’s character that causes people to pay a lot of money for this sound. Not many were made – just over a couple of thousand and production ceased in the early 60s.
