WHAT’S THE SMALLEST, MOST POWERFUL BASS AMP IN THE WORLD? THE MARK STUDIO 2!
The Mark V piano, introduced in 1984, was the last revision of the famous tine-based piano produced by the electric piano manufacturer. It included many enhancements that resulted in a truly excellent instrument. The Mark V was sampled at 20 velocity levels for full duration, providing an accurate sound with no artificial decay envelopes or sample loops. Additionally, 20 velocity layers of release samples are included.
Mark Two Berlin is a distinctively unique and versatile instrument recorded from a restored Fender Rhodes MKII. It was salvaged from a Berlin collector and brought back to life after many months of restoration. The Mark Two Berlin had 21 pickups completely replaced with new ones, a few damper replacements and multiple tine adjustments and tunings. It was routed direct into a Zen modded Golden Age Pre 73 and recorded chromatically with 3 velocity layers per key. The Ableton Live Pack, Logic and Kontakt versions all come with 60 looped clips. The Live version includes MIDI clips while the Logic and Kontakt instruments contain Apple Loops.
Mark One Brooklyn is collection 24-bit instruments and loops sampled from the Rhodes Mark One. It has been programmed as an Ableton Live Pack, Kontakt Instrument and Logic library. Sampled more for its character and less for its perfection, the Mark One Brooklyn brings a flavor all its own to the studio or stage. This release also includes over 60 audio loops played by professional jazz, funk and R&B keyboardists. The Ableton Live version of Mark One Brooklyn also includes 5 custom built amp and speaker emulations in Ableton Rack format.
Chris catches up with the pioneer of the tech trance scene – Scottish producer – Mark Sherry . Mark played an important role in the rise of Dutch Tech Trance label Detox Records as in-house DJ, producer, and A&R, but struck out on his own launching his own digital label Outburst Records in 2014, soon followed by Techburst records, giving a more techno edge to his output. Here he chats about finding global fame with Public Domain and how that affected him, and about he collaborates with Alex Di Stefano . Get some insider knowledge of how he gets that tight tech trance sound and what synths he uses.
Close is not enough. All of the pretty GUI’s and presets in the world aren’t going to make your amp-modeling software sound like a real amp. It takes a lot more than ones and zeros to make your computer come alive with lifelike amp tone. It takes a real amplifier company. ReValver MK III.V from Peavey is a revolutionary 64-bit amplifier modeling software that captures the true characteristics of vacuum tubes while giving players unprecedented control over their tone and gain structures. With 81 linkable sub modules that model legendary amps, stomp boxes and rack effects, plus in-depth tweaking on the circuit level, ReValver is the most advanced modeling software on the planet.
MrRay73 Mark II is a digital simulation of the famous american electro-mechanical piano of the seventies, invented during World War II by a music teacher, Harold B. Rhodes (1910 – 2000), and widely used in almost all musical genres ranging from soul/black music to jazz, blues, modern and pop. This instrument has rapidly become a legend, and is still used today, altough samples have replaced the real thing so that very often music producers use huge sample libraries or hardware keyboards / workstations to achieve this kind of sonority, and often the result is a cold and ‘dead’ sound, with no vitality, no warmth, nothing that even compares to the unpredictability and genuineness of the real thing.
