Virga is an observable streak of precipitation falling from a cloud that evaporates or sublimates before reaching the ground; categorized in Cirrus (higher and thinner), Nimbus, (dense but not too low) and Stratus (thick and low) this package will give you the ultimate freedom to compose and layer atmospheric textures.
The 80s EPs are virtual versions of 4 iconic 80s EP sounds from the Yamaha DX7 Mark II, each counting two times 1144 24bit/48kHz samples for the Pro versions. 88 keys sampled in 12 velocity layers. There are three more of them: 80s EP Bright, FM and Warm. No software emulation beats the expressiveness and bite of the real thing. I played around two thousand EP presets and customized 32 of my favourites on my TX802/DX7II and then sampled 4 like all the virtual Wurlitzers and Rhodes out there: extremely detailed and programmed to behave exactly like the original. “Classic” is a customized Rhodes preset from the DX1. The DX1 goes for around ten thousand dollar on the second hand market and its factory library is far superior to the DX7.
“Sea Trumpets” is a virtual musical instrument that’s built with samples of conches. Seashell horns. Conques. Shell trumpets. Conch horns. Triton’s Trumpets. They have many different names, but they’re made of shells of large sea snails and they have been used for thousands of years. I sampled 35 conches of the collection of “water musician” Reinier Sijpkens, he blew them himself. It took him decades to collect that many, and now he has one of the biggest collections in the world. “Sea Trumpets” comes with 583 samples of about 30 seconds. Two groups have seamless loops so they sound even longer. Full version of Kontakt 3.5 or higher is required. The instrument will work for 30 minutes in the free Kontakt Player and can’t be deeply edited. “Sea Trumpets” comes with two presets: Ensemble and Monophonic.
This instrument is compiled entirely from re-tuned “bourdon” strings (drones) of a Polish Hurdy-gurdy. The original recorded Lira is normally tuned in C/G however, for this Kontakt library, each of its drones has been retuned and recorded in 24bit depth for more authentic sound. All sounds in this third instalment of “Lira Korbowa – Authentic Polish Hurdy-gurdy” library are organically extracted from the instrument built by Stanislaw Wyzykowski – one of the pioneers of hurdy-gurdy revival. No preservatives or frozen imports here!
A micro library “Lira Korbowa – Pack I” for Kontakt – custom-built Polish hurdy-gurdy – in its first reiteration features 1.5 octave of melodic strings sampled together with C/F drones in Lydian mode, as well as its original C drone with melodic strings sampled separately for more melodic flexibility. This is an authentic recording of my instrument – sampled with very little post-processing for higher authenticity and to preserve its genuine overtones. “Lira Korbowa – Pack One” is the first instalment of hurdy-gurdy collection I am planning to release gradually: starting from simple, playable patches – delivering the authentic sonic enjoyment of this unique instrument – to more complex extended techniques and unique playing styles.
