Welcome to our Solo Dhol drum library. The Solo Dhol contains over 5.100 samples and +100 different articulations, including sticks, mallets, brushes, hands/fingers, bass bends and more, all recorded in extraordinary detail in a close, dry studio setting. We deep sampled two professional Dhol Drums for this library, each with distinct characteristics and tones. These drums have animal hide bass heads (called “dagga”) and maylar treble heads (called “thili”). They dagga sides are tuned with a single heavy nylon rope, wound around the drum through steel rings. The thili heads are tuned with a series of steel lugs and rods, typical of most modern percussion.
The Organetta is a small portable reed organ made in the late 50s by the German company Hohner*. The sound is generated by an electric fan that blows air into a set of brass reeds hence the sound is reminiscent of something in between a melodica and an accordeon. We sampled this little green friend with two mics: a large diaphragm condenser mic and a piezo attached to the chassis. The fan noise has been removed from the samples but you can choose to add it to the mix or play it alone by pressing the green keys. To add more realism we captured 6 round robin of the key down and up noises.
What happens when a ’90s analog synth meets an ’80s tape recorder? We sampled a famous Analogue Bass Synth to tape using a new old stock cassette, and boxed it into a Kontakt Instrument. The original synth produced fat basses and sharp leads, but now the raw tape sounds and unstable pitch add perfect elements for “tron” like sounds. Each waveform (Sawtooth, Square, Pulse 5%) was sampled chromatically from C0 to C7 and each sample is more then 6 seconds long. In the custom Performance View a Saturation and Limiter Input Gain are added to the original synth’s parameters.

Kardoni captures the spirit of the original ARP Omni Mk2 in a library of programs that deliver this legend right to your desktop. As one of the most prolific and versatile “stringers” of the late 1970s, the ARP Omni has polyphonic Violin, Viola, Bass and Cello waveforms. It is split into 3 sections: Strings, Synthesizer and Bass synth – all simultaneously available. To emulate the original synthesizer, a restored ARP Omni was expertly recorded, voice by voice, and reverse engineered for Ableton Live, Kontakt and Logic. It even includes the famous chorus, phaser and hollow waveform sounds.
