MPC Expansion: PATCHED GRAND – 30 prepared pianos and more

Pianos sound like pianos do. Well, as long as you don’t open them up and start messing around with what you find inside. Of course we did right that, and what makes all pianists angry made our sound designer Marco Scherer very happy. For this sound bank we got a Yamaha C3 Grand Piano and gave it some friendly torment, which resulted in 30 very unique patches, usable for songs, tracks and scores. Have fun!

The CIN series are made to be easy to use instrument that will inspire you, straight out of the box. No bells or whistles, just load them and play! The bells and whistles have already been applied, by us. The CIN-B is a hybrid. We took a Grand Piano and morphed in the attack part from a Harpsichord. since the Harpsichord works with plucked strings, and also has a bright, almost brittle timbre, the tone produced in the CIN-B is totally unique. We then layered the sound with a mellotron mixed choir, most prominent in the lower velocities, so when played softly, the choir part is more in front, but when you hit it harder, the choir just gives a slight dreamy mist over the tone.

Estate Grand Piano is a beautifully hand-sampled Kawai GS 60 6’9? grand piano with three different microphone perspectives including a mono-capatible M/S (mid-side) microphone perspective. It was recorded with care and with only the finest equipment at a country estate in the heart of corn country in Southern Ontario Canada. Note: This is the full version of our popular Estate Grand Piano LE. How does it sound? The Estate Grand Piano is sampled from a grand piano that resides in the library of a country manor. The room is warm sounding and the piano overpowers the room just slightly filling the room strong overtones. Hence, the piano has a lot of attack! While sampling the grand piano, the owner of the manor mentioned that he auditioned several pianos before picking the Kawai. He had tried Steinways and other famous pianos, but fell in love with the character of the Kawai. It is not a “me too” piano, but a unique instrument that will add life to your live or recorded piano sound!
