This class is made for those who have never been writing to the music but really want to start. You will learn only the basics of the music theory and music production that are needed for writing your first and simple (“simple” does not mean that it will not be beautiful). I believe that if you will write your first track before the learning of the musical theory you will have more inspiration for the further education and desire to create more wonderful tracks. In this class I will be showing everything in Ableton Live, but you can use any musical software you like. You can even do the same on your musical instruments if you like. But it will be more convenient to record your instruments as an audio file. So if you are ready, let’s begin our captivating musical journey! And may the inspiration be with you!

This class is focused to people without any knowledge on software, recording or mixing to give an excellent starting point to bring some music ideas into a digital audio software environment and learn some basic principles in order to share their music to the world. The Class Project is to make a musical Demo and share it in the Project Gallery via Soundcloud. We are going to use Garageband. Why Garageband? Because is the most accesible and simple recording software to start learning and deliver music. In any case the concepts, tips and knowledge in this class are perfectly transferable to any other recording software or DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) in the market.

In this class we will focus on the new Pro Tools First software. This is a new version of Pro Tools that is absolutely free. It mimics traditional versions of Pro Tools, so if you learn Pro Tools First, you will be very comfortable working on Pro Tools or Pro Tools HD in a studio. Pro Tools First is a full-featured program, but it isn’t without it’s limitations. I’ll walk you though what those are, some ways you can deal with them, and how to use the program to produce and/or record your music.
