Welcome to The Windmill, 18th century mill-turned-drum room and arguably the smallest studio that has made the biggest dent in modern music history. The In the Pocket EZX taps in on the trinity that has made the beats recorded at the The Windmill the keystone of countless hits: the inherent magic swirling in the cylinder-shaped structure of its one-of-a-kind room, Ash’s ingenious ability to tune, alter and engineer unique-sounding make-shift kits as well as his inimitable bedrock-solid pocket groove.
The Funkmasters EZX was recorded in Nashville’s renowned Sound Kitchen Studios and captures the legacy of two of the most innovative, inspiring and influential instrumentalists of our time. Meet the principal drummers in James Brown’s band: Clyde Stubblefield and John “Jabo” Starks. Fans and critics cite the collective era of these two drummers, who often played in tandem, as the pinnacle of funk music. Samples and looped audio of their original beats would go on to become the foundation of hip hop, their grooves gave birth to countless genres and the use of their breaks inspired innovation within the techniques of DJ-ing. This product doesn’t only unveil the audio legacy of these two remarkable artists, it captures their touch, feel and timing in a MIDI library with signature grooves, played by the masters themselves.

In this EZX, three parallel sonic worlds collide and converge in a multi-dimensional display of organic, electronic and viscerally evocative sounds. Presenting a total of 30 unique kits distributed across three conceptually different libraries, this is an all-encompassing collection of multi-spatial sounds designed to live in a nameless divide where genres, styles or narratives are secondary. Frankly, this is an EZX for fearless exploration – loaded with sounds that have the power to awaken the senses.
The Blues EZX comes with two complete kits; a 1970s Gretsch and a calfskinned Swedish Levin set from the 1940s. On top of that, it features contemporary Paiste and Sabian crashes, vintage Zildjan A and K series cymbals as well as extras such as a suitcase and a set of calfskinned tambourines. All instruments were handpicked and in many cases road-worn by the sampling drummer himself, a blues musician with decades worth of experience behind the kit playing the blues. It was recorded in an empty Swedish theater and later mixed in a high-end studio through vintage and modern outboard gear. The end result is a cross-pollination between new and old; warm and characteristic sounds that cover the whole range, from old school to modern, from dry to ambient. This is the sound of then, now and time to come.
A massive EZX tailored for industrial rock and metal, dark electronic beats and cinematic sound design. Inspired by anything from industrial metal to dark electronic beats and cinematic sound design, this EZX presents a fathomless fusion of warped, menacing and multi-layered textures of cutting-edge sound design. In total, more than 400 audio sources covering anything from acoustic drums and percussion to electronic drum machines, foley, ambience and effect noises are included. Using elaborate chains of effects and outboard, each individual sound was engineered, re-amped or remixed for a tangibly raw, gritty and distorted feel. With these sounds as a base, 31 mix-ready presets were created, each offering its own unique hybrid kit. Combined, the contents of this EZX will lend you a massive body of sound that melds the two worlds of acoustic and electronic into a sinister synthesis of skewed percussive go-tos for any track in need of a viscerally dark aura.
Expansion for EZdrummer 2 and Superior Drummer 3, recorded by acclaimed percussionist Richie Flores and Grammy Award-winning engineer Dave Kowalski at Sear Sound Studios in New York. The Latin Cuban Percussion EZX was envisioned as a percussive complement to the Latin Cuban Drums EZX and features a collection of the most common percussion instruments used in the wealth of music sorted under ‘Latin’: congas, timbales, bongos, guiros, shakers, woodblocks, cowbells and more. It was recorded alongside its EZX counterpart at New York’s renowned Sear Sound Studios by Grammy Award-winning and Emmy-nominated engineer Dave Kowalski and sampled by undoubtedly one of the world’s most in-demand percussionists, Richie Flores.
