After a quick guide to installing EZX expansion packs, we take a tour of the EZdrummer 2 GUI, from the Drums page to the Browser. Then it’s on to browsing, searching, auditioning and loading preset grooves from the factory library, and the fundamentals of drum track building; followed by an exploration of the MIDI Drop Zone and Tap2Find functions, which enable you to search for particular library grooves using external patterns and the rhythms in your head as stylistic filters.

This series of 11 video tutorials will get you up to speed on every aspect of iZ’s amazing new mastering suite. After an overview of the seven powerful processors that make up the Ozone package, we run through the new features introduced with version 6, then show you how to lay out a series of tracks for ‘sweetening’ in preparation for mastering. Getting into the Ozone 6 modules themselves, we start with Dynamics and the global functions, before moving on to explore the various parameters and Vectorscope views of the multiband Imager, used to add ‘air’ or ‘space’ to the mix. In chapter 6, we tackle the Exciter module – an invaluable tool for dialing in high-frequency enhancement – focusing it on specific frequency ranges to generate exactly the required ‘sizzle’.

    TEAM DECiBEL | 19 November 2014 | 278 MB

Waves C1 is, without doubt, one of the finest compressor plugins every made, and in this series of six in-depth videos, we show you to push it to the limits. We start with a tour of the C1’s parameters and a rundown of its various versions, before getting into the details of the gain reduction meter and how it reflects the amount of compression being applied. From there, we move on to the Compressor-Gate version of C1, exploring its interface and revealing how it differs from the standard model. We then get stuck into the various EQ modes on offer, showing how the presets can be adapted to suit any particular purpose – specifically, the reduction of reverb tails in an audio track. DeEssing next, as we use C1’s display and sidechain to visually focus on sibilant areas and duck them out. And, finally, we go deeper into sidechaining and demonstrate reducing ‘muddiness’ from an audio recording with the C1 in EQ mode.

    evilFish 303 for Ableton Live

    TEAM DECiBEL | 15 November 2014 | 92 MB

EvilFish 303. As it turns out, this is THE BEST re-creation of the infamous Devil Fish 303 that is available. Here’s why: We painstakingly recorded the Devil Fish 303 note by note through high-end analog gear to capture the warmth and detail of the original instrument. Because we used the best tools available in the recording process the sound quality of our instruments is unmatched – and you can really hear the difference! About ten years ago we sent our Roland TB-303 to Australia where a man named Robin Whittle modified it into the Devil Fish. What makes the Devil Fish modification so special is that it adds a ton of features which enhance the 303, literally turning an already classic instrument into a hot-rod analog beast. Mr. Whittle added knobs, switches, and buttons like “Overdrive”, “FM Filter”, “Filter Tracking” , as well as 4 additional banks of ROM memory to store extra patterns in.
