A BASS INVASION!

EZbass MIDI inspired by the bassists and rock bands of the 1960s ‘British Invasion’ era. Who can deny the impact of Paul McCartney’s melodic mastery, Bill Wyman’s thud-like blues rhythms or John Entwistle’s ferocious escapes on the fretboard? In many ways, the ‘British Invasion’ era didn’t just redefine the role of the bass player in a band but also the bass guitar as something much more than merely a frequency in the back of the mix. Now, it was okay with a bass growling, distorting or recklessly gobbling up mouthfuls of prime mix real estate. In other words, the bass finally got its due. This EZbass MIDI pack was recorded in tandem with the British Invasion MIDI packs for drums and EZkeys but should at the same time be considered as something that stands firmly on its own. Expect solid basslines and melodic hooks – all inspired by the time when not only Britain conquered the airwaves but very much so also the bass. Let the bass invasion begin!

Cab Pack “Mars PR-H55” is an impulse response (IR) collection based on a vintage British 4×12 cabinet with extremely rare pre-Rola™ Celestion™ T1281 Greenback speakers with heavy magnets and 55Hz bass cones. The exact same spec cabinet was used by Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page and Ritchie Blackmore in the ’60s.

Stereo Valve (Tube) Distortion EQ. The plugin models the sound of ritish Valve Distortion found on major hit records of today, and also features a Varislope Equalizer for always musically pleasing sound. Made with our proprietery Reactive Transients Technology.  The “warmth” and “crunch” that certain great valve gear brought to classic recordings is still missed today. Although many companies have tried to emulate classic valve hardware, we felt that we still needed to reach out to our hardware outboard for “that sound!” We were after that Classic British Distortion Valve Sound produced by the 5654 valve based equipment. Finally we decided to embark on the difficult journey of trying to emulate and get the sound signature of one of our favorite pieces of valve gear. In order to do this we needed to start from scratch. So we went a little back in time, much like the gear, and found a unique mathematical system to model our classic hardware, including all its detailed non-linearities. This modeling technology was then further designed and implemented by our team to measure how different transients “react” to valve gear.

Vintage British Guitars, a brand new collection of classic electric guitar loops cranked to the max ready for producers worldwide. A stone’s throw from the beach at Ocean Studios, we took a selection of beautiful instruments, some vintage amps, tastey mics and preamps and put them all in a room with some very eager guitarists. We turned the whole lot up to 11 and recorded the results. Two days of blood, sweat and tears and a few Heck Yeahs and “Vintage British Guitars” was born. Vintage British Guitars is the perfect bite size selection of Authentic Guitar Loops, Recorded at 24bit, 44.1, oozing the authenticity of great amps, guitars and performances which when combined together, form one neat little package.

A year ago, I was working on my very first feature film score, a hugely enjoyable, independent British, horror comedy called The Snarling. The soundtrack has recently been mastered for release, so I thought it would also be fun to make the synth sounds I designed for the score available too. The Snarling soundset contains synth patches for Zebra2, ZebraHZ and Massive. There are 100 each for the two Zebra synths and 50 for Massive, totalling 250 patches.
