Berlin Concert Grand v1.4.0 LiTE

This is a light version of the Berlin Concert Grand piano library. This instrument is based on a Bechstein D 280. It originally appeared in the Akoustik Piano software. Despite its age, I think it’s still quite useful as a lightweight piano library with a slightly unique tone. The samples in the original release were in 24-bit 44.1kHz WAV format. The samples were converted to 16-bit files. A null test with the original samples results in a peak of -87dB, which won’t be audible by any means! The samples were converted to KONTAKT’s proprietary NCW format, and then packed into NKX containers for convenience. The result is a reduction in size of around 82%, and space savings of 2.2GB!

This fine collection of loops and oneshots is full of analog warmth and noisy distortion from hardware like Modular Synths and guitar stomp boxes as well as field recordings and noises from abandoned factory halls and industrial gear.
