Session Drums Club is a multisampled library of world-class acoustic drums recorded with plenty of natural room ambience to impart realistic depth and an organic vibe in the rhythm department. The 4.5 GB of sampled drums in this Pack are divided up into eight Standard Drum Racks and eight MPE Drum Racks. Each Rack represents a complete kit captured in a great-sounding acoustic space, reminiscent of classic recordings of the past. The individual Drum Hits include kicks of various sizes played with felt or plastic beaters as well as snares, sidesticks, rim shots and toms. The ride, crash, splash and china cymbals as well as the hi hats come in a variety of sizes and articulations played via the pedal and tip or shank of the stick. Tambourine and cowbell samples are also included. The kits load as Drum Racks with eight Macro Controls for tuning, envelope and EQ for each individual Drum Hit. Each drum in the Drum Rack also has its own channel and can therefore have its own effects and routing. The MPE Kits are designed specifically to play well on MPE-enabled controllers like the new Push, where users can add extra depth and control by varying their finger position and pressure during performance.

Convolution Reverb is a creative device for bringing new space to your sounds – a sample-based reverb suite with hundreds of impulse responses from real-world spaces and world-class hardware. A convolution reverb takes a sample from a real-world space (called an impulse response or IR) and uses this to digitally simulate the reverberation of that space. “Only a convolution reverb can capture the ambience of a real space, or real hardware, and recreate it on a computer,” explains Ableton sound designer Christian Kleine. “With a convolution reverb, you can easily access the reverb of many spaces, and still tweak them.” Convolution Reverb Pro allows for extended tweaking options such as EQ, damping, modulation, and more. “The reverse function in Convolution Reverb Pro is especially nice,” says Christian. “You can modify an original IR to something completely new, and then resave the design as a new preset.” Convolution Reverb Pro also allows for combining two IRs—one for early reflections, and one for late—for a hybrid sound that combines elements of multiple spaces.

Corrosion is a multi-algorithm distortion effect plugin. It is based on a DSP engine built with 4x oversampling, which uses analog-style anti-aliasing filters for an unusually smooth but robust sound character. Corrosion includes a wide selection of different distortion algorithms, from classic clippers and folders to very unique curves invented at Sinevibes. Distortion gain can go up to 24 dB and has a tilt control for natural stereo width effects, plus the plugin also features an exponential gate which can be used for both for noise reduction on analog recordings – as well as more creatively to “chop” audio.
