Nostalgic Saturation Tape Cassette 2 is an audio plugin that emulates the warmth, noise and character of old tape cassettes. Following up from our well received Tape Cassette 1, we’ve updated the plugin with a sleek interface and more changes under the hood too. Along with a brand new selectable Type 1 Cassette Impulse Response (IR), we’ve improved the saturation algorithm, wow & flutter engine and implemented real sampled tape noise, all which results in a wonderfully warm and more accurate vintage sound. In addition to this you now have two VU meters to monitor your audio as well as selectable oversampling. Now you can easily add that classic sound to an entire track or use it directly on individual channels for added movement, texture, and warmth. Alternatively you can take it further than the material limitations of tape and push the parameters into a far more experimental soundscape, as a sound design tool.
If you want your tracks to be energetic, in-your-face and bold, make ’em “Schlap”. Schlap is a characterful, colourful and aggressive sounding program-dependent compressor. It takes inspiration from hardware RMS compressors of the past and evolves them into a modern setting. The compressor uses a program-dependent attack and release influenced by old hardware making the compression sound characterful and dynamic. The RMS detection means that Schlap detects the average loudness of a signal, resulting in sudden short peaks being uncompressed so that they can attack hard and sound heavy hitting. Also inherently in RMS detection, there is a slight delay in compression which allows the initial, early transients to sneak through uncompressed so they keep their punch. You’ve got a safe, controlled track you think you’re happy with, but you have to ask yourself… “Does it Schlap?”
Endless Creativity. Tape Pro is a multi-effect tape audio plugin that introduces warmth, frequency shaping, modulation, noise and delay. Whether you want to accurately replicate a microcassette tape running at 1.2cm/s, or you want to drive a mastering grade tape machine with strange distortion shapes into a high feedback delay engine, Tape Pro is the plugin for the job. Tape Pro has a module for each sound feature of tape. The first of these in the signal chain is the Saturation module. The variety of distortion types to choose from turn Tape Pro into a valuable creative tool – get the exact saturation sound you want with; Tape, Digital, Rectify, Half-Rectify, Sine and Smooth. Next, the Response module uses a variety of different impulse responses recorded from real tape machines to recreate the authentic character to its sound. Our collection of responses from 12 different tape machines will have you covered; Cassette Type 1, Type 2 and Type 4, Worn, New and Mod Copi-Delay, Master SA812, Master TM15, Microcassette at 1.2cm/s and 2.4cm/s, Semi-Pro RB77 7.5ips and 15ips.
Is a chaotic track starting to get to you? Maybe you should make it a little more “Smoov”. Smoov is a soft, clean and transparent sounding program-dependent compressor. It takes inspiration from hardware compressors of the past with a focus on peak detection, meaning that it can quickly and effortlessly react to incoming signals and blend them in with the surrounding audio field. When a busy track needs taming, Smoov softly settles your tracks. The compressor uses a program-dependent envelope influenced by old hardware making the compression sound smooth and dynamic. The peak detection means that Smoov detects the actual amplitude of a signal, resulting in an extremely fast response to tame and control anything that is thrown at it. You’ve got a big, groovy track you think you’re happy with, but you have to ask yourself… “Is it Smoov?”
