Sunday Jazz is the final installment – Sunday Breaks. These drums were recorded for personal use. Due the massive amounts of recording time and content recorded for Sunday Jazz, these were almost forgot about. Erik discovered 3 analog reels full of jazz drum recordings. I used the 1st reel for my personal collection. The recordings for this release are reels 2 and 3. Throw these behind your main kicks and snare and add some soul to your music. Use the fills to make your music feel more soulful and original. The Great J Dilla studied Jazz drumming techniques, so here is your opportunity to expand your percussive vocabulary.

Niched in the wave of back beat grooves, this breaks and percussion specialty kit is there for you to get your production that live feel you’re missing. Sometimes you just need that vibe of Marvin Gaye. Sometimes you simply need the percussive instruments out of that sample to chop, flip, manipulate, and meticulously recreate something of your own! Our approach was the same when creating the BRKSxCNGS 2 sample pack. 30 break grooves, 30 Conga grooves, at 4 different BPM. Then, each BPM uniquely mixed and blended with each break and conga groove together! There are numerous possibilities here. Extract the grooves midi information to create your own new style! Use the loops as is to get the groove going!
