PROSPECT HAZE comes packed with the jazzy, melodic samples, deep basses, and smooth drums that put 90s East Coast hip hop on the map. Dig into playable melodic kits featuring Rhodes, flutes, and ambiences sampled in classic 90s fashion. And the included patterns and grooves put you on the fast track to earning your own place in hip hop history. BACK TO THE ROOTS: Sampling is at the heart of golden era hip hop. After the first wave of early 1980s drum-machine-oriented records, New York DJs and producers began to look to their vinyl collections for material to sample for local MCs. Taking advantage of the first generation of sampling workstations, these artists sliced up jazz, rock, soul, and funk records and used them as the foundation for beats. PROSPECT HAZE uses these same sampling techniques to recreate the smooth, silky sound heard on classic hip hop recordings. The drums invoke the sound of breakbeats from 1960s- and 1970s-era rock, R&B, and funk sampled straight from the original vinyl.
