Recorded in a tiny room, using minimal mics and all analog outboard gear, we collected some of the absolute tightest sounding drum samples and loops. Dead, dry drums are hard to come by these days. Over-processed and verbed out sounds have plagued every corner of the sample world.  We wanted to design an entire library of real, raw drum samples and loops that allowed music makers to process, verb, compress and destroy these samples in any which way.

We all love the original Disco era, influenced by many and sampled 1000’s of times. So what is it about the Disco sound that makes it so enticing ? For us at would have to mean a fat low end from the kick but with a little hi end bite to cut through the four to the floor groove, a warm and rich snare to keep that beat focused that of course tonally mixes with a clap just perfect. Sweet yet fast sounding 15 inch hi hats for a classy open hi hat sound. All Toms low and dead ready for the supersonic fills and breakdowns neccesary to hype the dance floor into a frenzy.

This library is a collection of the techniques employed and refined by Aaron and Nate. They are available to you as tools – great sounds, useful in many genres. We worked hard to capture the ferocity of Aaron’s playing with realness and natural imperfections. There are a lot of drum samples out there that are overly-processed, at least for our taste. So, we made sounds that we wanted to hear and use in our own applications. They stand on their own untouched, but also respond very well to effects like distortion and reverb. With over 600 multi-velocity samples (check out KIT DETAILS for the drum gear specifics), we kept the file organization simple and straightforward, and added useful presets in Battery 4, Logic ESX24, and Slate Trigger 2. The samples are big, loud, quiet, lo-fi, and hi-fi. They are here for you to use, enjoy, and explore.
