Why do most software chorus plug-ins sound like crap? We can’t answer that question, but we did the next best thing: we created one that doesn’t. Fluid is an analog-modeled chorus that, if we may be so bold, cleans the floor with the typical chorus that comes with your DAW. For subtle phasey widening and full-on modulation mayhem, it makes chorus a usable effect again, from giving pads a wide stereo stage to livening up stiff and static guitar parts.

AraldFX offers a drum machine that takes its inspiration from many sources. It’s been said that old is the new new. This is especially true in the music industry, where instrument manufacturers indulge their nostalgic instincts with a steady stream of retro-inspired gear. While much of the emulative attention has been focused on old analogue synths and tube-laden outboard processors, there’s been no small demand for vintage drum machines. Indeed, the trusty Roland TR-808 may well have been the first ‘chic antique’ on the second-hand music tech market, while its successor, the TR-909, is equally desired, particularly by dance producers. Unfortunately, vintage instruments command lofty prices and an endless supply of patience. This being the case, drum synths (both hard and soft) have undergone a sort of resurrection in recent years.

KikAxxe is a faithful emulation of the ARP Axxe analog synthesizer that descended from the venerable ARP 2600 in the mid ’70s. Play it from a MIDI controller or the integral Sequencer +, an emulation of the ARP step sequencer that contributed to the signature sound of artists like The Who, Depeche Mode, 808 State, Vince Clarke, Jean-Michel Jarre, Billy Currie of Ultravox and Visage, and filmmaker John Carpenter. This combo gives you a powerful tool for creating distinctive synth bass lines. And to enhance lead lines and effects, KikAxxe also includes an emulation of the unique sound of the Echoplex—the original tape delay device that preceded digital delay units.

AdrenaLinn Sync is a software plug-in from Roger Linn Design that provides the same unique beat-synced filter modulation and sequencing effects of our AdrenaLinn III guitar pedal, plus quite a bit more. Though intended for guitar, it adds fascinating rhythmic tonal effects to any instrument or processed audio. First released in October of 2009, we listened to your feedback and are now releasing AdrenaLinn Sync Version 2, a dramatic improvement over the original. And it’s free to all purchasers of the original version. AdrenaLinn Sync Version 2 is written in conjunction with Way Out Ware, makers of TimeWArp2600 and KikAxxe, critically-acclaimed emulations of vintage Arp analog synthesizers. Sylfid-f1 is a string instrument based on Syflex’s powerful physical modeling technology. Although similar to a piano (strings, hammer, damper), the goal is not to model an existing instrument, but to create a new one. Thanks to Syflex’s fast simulation technology, the string vibrations can be computed in real-time. Sylfid doesn’t use any samples: everything is computed on the fly. This gives the freedom to change any parameter of the model, allowing to tune the instrument in many different ways, and to produce a wide variety of different sounds. For instance, it is possible to change the material the strings are made of, from plastic to metal, or adjust the shape and hardness of the hammer along with its position on the strings. All these properties can be modified on a per string basis.
