I’m picking up right where I left off with the Fundamentals of Piano Playing Part 2. In the FoPP Pt 2, we’ve learned to read notes, and remember to keep practicing them every day! In this course our goal is to play the arrangement I made of Shostakovich’s 2nd Waltz.  The arrangements I made for this course can be found in the Project section as attachments. I think the course will be more easy to follow if you’re behind your piano and you print out the arrangement beforehand and watch the course with the sheet music on the piano and your laptop next to it trying to participate immediately and pausing the course whenever necessary. (but completely up to you of course).

So like I said, in this course we’re going to learn everything necessary to play our arrangement in the final lesson of this course. This includes:
– Sharps and flats (the black keys of the piano)
– Rests
– Moving your hand and stretching out your fingers
– Training your note reading
– Articulation and Dynamics

As promised also here a link to some great etudes that you can practiced to get a better feeling for the keyboard, to train your note reading and to improve your technique. Also, you’ll get to understand what fingering is natural in piano playing as the fingering that is written is excellent.
