From a rough song idea through to a complete production and then on to a finished mix & master, you’ll discover what it takes to create, edit, mix, and master your own productions in the digital age.

SONGWRITING
The song has come to us incomplete. We’ll be writing lyrics, reviewing the melodies and perfecting the arrangement before ever hit record.

DRUM PROGRAMMING
Follow along as I show my process for programming drums and adding percussive layers. Also, we’ll be producing beat production elements so you’ll get to see both sides of the rhythm production process.

ARRANGEMENT
Learn to record instruments so that they compliment each other while serving the song. Not just how, but why. We’re going to push the boundaries with this arrangement.

WORKING WITH MUSICIANS
Learn how to select the right musicians for the job. We’ll be interviewing each of the hired pros so we can break down their recording process and get inside their heads about the parts they contribute.

BEAT PRODUCTION
Learn how to add layers of beat production so that they serve the song. From bass drops and loops to custom grooves and production, this track will feature it all.

EDITING & MIX PREP
We want to capture the best performances possible, but this type of production calls for tight and clean edits. You’ll learn when to edit and when to leave things be.
