The Making of the Kanye West Drum Kit

The KANYE WEST DRUM KIT was created by sampling hundreds of records of 70’s and 80’s music. The wave editing was done with Sony Sound Forge, the processing was done with Pro Tools, and analog gear like the Electrix Filter Factory was also a major factor. We also incorporated the classic Ensoniq ASR 10 which gave us a rich and crisp sound.

The Kanye West Drum Kit contains 60 Kicks, 60 Snares, 60 Hi Hats, 13 Open Hi Hats, 13 Claps, 20 Layered Claps, 10 Shakers, 7 Tambourines, 8 Rides, 5 Crashes, and 8 Rim Shots. That’s a total of 270 single hit drum samples.
